About This Position

PHX is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports), which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an annual economic impact of over $44 billion.

About This Position

The Aviation Department has a vacancy for a Supervisor I, Security Badging Office position. This position in the Aviation Department's Public Safety and Security Division is responsible for the day-to-day operations and front-line supervision within the Public Safety & Security Badging Office. This role oversees up to 12 Airport Access Agents, along with additional front office support staff. Key supervisory responsibilities include leading staff meetings and training sessions, conducting quality control and audit activities, preparing employee performance appraisals, and responding to inquiries or complaints from the public, tenants, ground transportation operators, and other stakeholders. The Supervisor ensures that all services are delivered in alignment with established customer service standards. This position is based at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, within the PHX Security Badging Office in Terminal 3. The Supervisor I serves as the front-line shift leader for the team responsible for administering the airport badging process.

The Essential Duties Of This Position Are To

• Monitor the work performance of Airport Access Agents, including quality control and audit functions.
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the PHX Security Badging Office and serve as a primary point of contact for airport tenants.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public, tenants, ground transportation operators, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and track inventory of office supplies.
• Interpret departmental policies, TSA and FAA regulations, and ensure proper application.
• Train employees in the enforcement of state statutes, city ordinances, TSA regulations and security directives, and departmental procedures.
• Perform administrative duties such as preparing performance evaluations, using SAP, managing correspondence and data entry/retrieval, addressing employee concerns, recommending corrective or disciplinary action, and ensuring labor card and timecard compliance.
• Prepare and maintain work schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
• Enter and retrieve information from complex databases and filing systems in compliance with TSA regulations.
• Evaluate identity documents in accordance with TSA regulatory requirements and properly handle and safeguard Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Security Sensitive Information (SSI).
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and collaborate effectively to deliver seamless customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the chain of command. This recruitment may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.
• Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of an Airport Access Agent when required. Provide training, coaching, and development for employees.
• Must be willing to use a Google Authenticator from one's personal device to perform daily job duties.
