Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville is seeking an Aviation Software Test Engineer to join the Kinetic Effects group onsite. The role focuses on automated testing, building robust test infrastructures, integration tests, and software qualification across analysis tools, mission planning software, and sensor components.

You will contribute in an agile team, develop Linux scripts, and help ensure quality through test planning, documentation, and reviews while collaborating across Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, CS, CE, EE, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent (GPA 3.0+).
• 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with C++, Python, or Java for software development or testing.
• Experience using manual and automated test tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a core member in test planning, strategy and design.
• Review/edit/generate engineering and testing documents per standards.
• Develop automated scripts in Linux for various applications.
• Contribute to an Agile software team for tasking and progress reporting.
