Job summary

Textron Aviation in California’s Sacramento area seeks a skilled sheet metal Fabricator/Assembler to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal for general aviation aircraft. You will set up machines, shape metal, and join parts using soldering and welding techniques, while inspecting seams and joints for quality.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of aviation sheet metal experience, plus familiarity with aircraft repair manuals and corrosion

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
• Familiar with aircraft repair manuals (AC 43.13-1B).
• Ability to identify corrosion and perform corrosion removal.
• Experience with wash etch, alodine, and primer application.

Responsibilities

• Determine project requirements per blueprints and instructions.
• Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun.
• Lay out sheet metal parts using blueprints and written instructions.
• Rivet and sheet metal component removal.
• Bend and form sheet metal parts; drill, deburr, countersink, and dimpling.
• Install blind rivets and fasteners.
• Follow safety protocols and obtain security badge if applicable.
