This summary outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities critical for the position of Sr. Security Specialist, working closely with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

General

This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position reporting to the Director of Security. It involves collaboration with the Security Manager, Safety Director, Operations Director, and interaction with pilots, airport staff, vendors, and regulatory agencies like the FAA and DOD. The Sr. Security Specialist supports security compliance, acts as the Company's Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO), and assists with TSA audits and DOD requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct station security audits and maintain standards and training.
2. Ensure TSA approval to operate.
3. Oversee security checkpoint screening and implement corrective actions if needed.
4. Verify station training requirements and manage DCS passenger clearance training.
5. Train trainers and confirm staffing adequacy.
6. Manage TSA signage and monitor vendor and employee security compliance.
7. Interface with vendors to ensure security performance.
8. Manage security documentation, training records, and compliance reports.
9. Coordinate station training and recurrent updates, including vendor and airline staff training.
10. Assist with security manual updates, forms, and compliance tools like Comply365 or IQSMS.
11. Support crew training and tracking, including new programs like BST.
12. Oversee FME training and access control management.
13. Manage vendor contracts and training documentation per IOSA standards.
14. Participate in special projects and provide backup support for security issues.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of security training requirements per DOT, FAA, DOD, and company regulations.
• Bachelor's Degree or relevant aviation experience preferred; High School diploma required.
• Minimum two years' experience in flight or airport operations with large turbo aircraft; international experience preferred.
• Results-oriented with strong operational balancing skills.
• Prior airline security experience preferred.
• Ability to pass government FSO security training within one year.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to pass a two-year background check, drug test, and criminal record check.
• Skills include confidentiality, effective communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, proficiency in MS Office, attention to detail, independence, problem-solving, and willingness to travel.
