Job summary

McGee Air Services seeks a Safety Specialist to foster an inclusive, high-performance ground operation, prioritizing safety for team members and customers. You will mentor leads, agents, and trainers, coordinate safety and quality initiatives, and ensure compliance with station requirements.

Based in Portland, OR, this role requires air-line experience, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the capability to obtain necessary clearances.

Qualifications

• Two years of airline experience with station operations.
• Experience coaching and counseling employees on performance is preferred.
• Skilled in aircraft servicing, loading, baggage handling.
• Able to lead and communicate with diverse teams.
• Able to obtain airport security clearance and pass background checks.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and quality training within the station.
• Coordinate safety and quality initiatives.
• Review station injury trends and direct corrective action.
• Review aircraft damage and direct corrective action.
• Conduct risk assessments at the station level.
• Coordinate safety promotion initiatives.
• Coordinate quality initiatives.
• Assist station training requirements to ensure all training needs are met.
• Assist/Train/Coordinate as requested by the station Safety Manager.
• Maintain break room bulletin boards.
• Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and entered timely.
• Assist station Read & Sign.
