Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking an Aviation Safety Compliance Specialist to oversee a comprehensive safety program for the airport, guiding both airside and landside operations. You will lead safety staff, design compliance initiatives, and coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies.

The role requires a related bachelor's degree and at least 3 years' safety or airport operations experience, with strong data analysis and training skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety, Emergency Management, Engineering, Construction Safety, Industrial Safety or related field.
• Three (3) years of safety experience or airport/airfield operations/management.
• Equivalencies allowed as listed (HS + 7 yrs, A.A. + 5 yrs, Bachelors in other field + 5 yrs, Masters +1 yr).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Airport Movement Area certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages, coordinates, trains, and evaluates safety staff; directs programs for airside and landside operations.
• Identifies procedures to ensure compliance, enhances safety activities, and designs safety initiatives.
• Trains personnel in PPE and compliance; advises airport stakeholders on safety programs.
• Reviews data, plans budgets, and consults with agencies on guidelines and resources.
• Keeps current on regulatory changes; monitors airport implementation and training.
• Responds to safety issues and non-compliance; provides guidance to resolve discrepancies.
• Attends meetings and conferences to ensure airport safety standards.
• Participates in public speaking to communicate safety issues and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
