Job summary

Jobtailor in Bloomington, MN is seeking a physically capable cargo handler to load/unload cargo from aircraft and operate ramp equipment. You will read off-load sheets, position containers, and assist with aircraft push-out while maintaining safety and clear communication in congested areas.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience, a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• At least 1 year forklift experience.
• Able to work outdoors in rain, snow, heat, or cold.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for an entire shift and move long distances across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload cargo from aircraft within confined areas.
• Push, pull and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
• Remove tie-downs and other gear when loading and unloading.
• Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
• Operate ramp equipment with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs in congested aircraft and vehicle areas.
• Position vehicles up to aircraft.
• Assist with aircraft push-out by driving an 80,000 lb vehicle or guide using depth perception in congested areas, or communicate with cockpit during push-back.
• Understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without assistance of sight or visual aids.
