Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Maintenance Inspector in Chicago, IL to manage quality-control tasks, review technician work, and ensure compliance with AMM, RSQCM, Customer Maintenance Programs, and FAA regulations. You will release aircraft after thorough checks and coordinate with customers.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and an A&P license or Repairman Certificate, plus extensive maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Airframe & Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate preferred.
• Extensive experience in maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations.
• Proficiency with inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.

Responsibilities

• Review technician assignments and sign-offs for adherence to Roster Authorizations and Repair Station Authorizations.
• Perform front-line spot checks of maintenance activity to ensure adherence to AMM, RSQCM, and customer GMM guidelines.
• Ensure Repair Station RQC and Operators RII requirements are properly identified, inspected and documented.
• Perform engine run/taxi qualifications for technicians assigned to run engines or taxi.
• Verify satisfactory squawk completion and operational checks.
• Spot-check technician proficiency and communicate with tech support.
• Ensure MEL procedures are followed per MQB 2018-02 Rev 1 and customer MEL requirements.
• Conduct aircraft final walk-around and release with attention to disturbed areas.
• Inform customer by email when aircraft is released from custody.
