Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks an Aviation Project Engineer to contribute to planning, design and delivery of aviation infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include leading design efforts, coordinating teams, and ensuring FAA standards are met. Eligible candidates should have 8–15 years in aviation engineering and a PE license or reciprocity.

The role requires commuting to the Pittsburgh, PA area 3 days per week and offers a flexible office environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• PE license in PA or OH, or reciprocity path.
• 8–15 years of aviation engineering experience.
• Airfield project experience (apron/taxiway/runway) and FAA familiarity.
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage client relations.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead design of aviation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and subconsultants.
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination and quality-control activities.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and staffing.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to proposals.
