Job summary

Setnix, a Setna iO company, in Tempe, Arizona, seeks an experienced Aviation Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities for our aerospace operations. You will source aircraft parts and materials, manage open purchase orders, and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on aerospace or MRO purchasing experience, understands part documentation and traceability, and brings strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong PO management and vendor relations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, tracking open items.
• Source and purchase aircraft parts, engine components, materials, tooling, supplies, and services for internal work orders.
• Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times, documentation, and delivery.
• Resolve purchasing issues, delays, and discrepancies; build supplier relationships.
• Obtain and compare vendor quotes; negotiate pricing and terms.
• Ensure parts come with required documentation and traceability.
• Notify teams of potential material delays or sourcing challenges.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information.
• Assist in evaluating vendor performance on quality and delivery.
• Support inventory and procurement initiatives as needs evolve.

Setnix, a Setna iO company, is an FAA-, EASA-, and UK CAA-certified repair station delivering high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions for the aviation and aerospace industry. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Setnix specializes in APU and main engine teardown, inspection, testing, repair, overhaul, and certification of high demand rotables and aircraft components.

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Procurement Specialist with aerospace or aviation purchasing experience to manage purchasing activities for our growing operations. This position is responsible for sourcing aircraft parts and materials, managing open purchase orders, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and identifying new suppliers to meet operational needs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience purchasing and sourcing parts within the aerospace, aviation, or MRO industry and understands the importance of part documentation, traceability, quality requirements, and timely delivery.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, including tracking open orders and following up on outstanding items.
• Source and purchase aircraft parts, engine components, materials, tooling, supplies, and services required for internal work orders, including hard-to-find, critical, and time-sensitive items.
• Communicate directly with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, documentation, order status, and delivery requirements.
• Resolve purchasing issues, including delays, shortages, discrepancies, and documentation concerns. Identify, research, and establish relationships with new aerospace and aviation vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Obtain and compare vendor quotes based on pricing, lead time, quality, documentation, and availability, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and purchasing terms when appropriate.
• Ensure parts and materials are sourced with the required documentation and traceability.
• Communicate potential material delays, shortages, or sourcing challenges to the appropriate teams.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and purchase order documentation.
• Assist with evaluating vendor performance based on quality, pricing, responsiveness, and on-time delivery.
• Support inventory and purchasing initiatives as operational needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Previous aerospace, aviation, or MRO purchasing/procurement experience required.
• Previous experience as a Buyer, Purchaser, Procurement Specialist, or similar role.
• Experience sourcing aircraft, engine, APU, or other aerospace components and materials.
• Strong knowledge of purchase order management and vendor relations.
• Experience identifying and developing new suppliers and sourcing channels.
• Understanding of aviation part documentation, certifications, and traceability requirements.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple open purchase orders and changing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable communicating and negotiating with vendors by phone and email.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, ERP, or similar business systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with production, operations, quality, and other departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience purchasing parts for APUs, main engines, or aircraft component repair.
• Experience working within an FAA-certified repair station or aviation MRO environment.
• Familiarity with FAA as they relate to purchasing, supplier documentation, and traceability.
• Established knowledge of aerospace suppliers, vendors, and sourcing channels.
• Experience working in a fast-paced repair or production environment.
