Universal Technical Institute seeks an Aviation Maintenance Instructor with a background in aircraft powerplant systems to deliver instruction on reciprocating and turbine engines. No teaching experience required—we train you to be an effective instructor.

You will lead theory and hands-on sessions, guiding students through engine systems from reciprocating engines to turbines and beyond.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred bachelor's degree with aviation maintenance coursework.
• Experience: 5 years of practical aviation maintenance work (excluding teaching).
• FAA A&P ratings/license valued; employer may pay to obtain if not current.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and educate: create an engaging learning environment focused on electrical components and your expertise.
• Hands-on training: demonstrate and supervise diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing systems.
• Curriculum development: collaborate with education team to improve or create courses.
• Mentorship: guide students on projects and encourage critical thinking.
• Safety first: teach and uphold safety procedures for a secure classroom.
