Job summary

HNTB's National Aviation Planning + Environmental Planning Practice seeks a qualified planner to support Florida DOT leadership and delivery of emerging aviation initiatives, including AAM and UAS. You will assist with project planning, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning across Florida.

Travel across Florida and occasional national travel are required. A Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field with 4 years of experience (or Master's with 3 years)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with professional experience in urban or transportation planning.
• Experience applying GIS and data analysis to planning projects.
• Strong written and oral communication for briefings, reports, and stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support FDOT leadership in coordinating emerging aviation initiatives.
• Prepare briefings, reports, and executive-level communications.
• Coordinate with agencies, airports, academics, and industry partners.
• Lead or support planning activities, workshops, and demonstrations.
• Develop maps, exhibits, and presentation materials for projects.
• Conduct or direct research on planning issues and provide recommendations.
• Contribute to public process and stakeholder facilitation.
