Job summary

AAR Corp in Hot Springs, AR is seeking an experienced painter for aviation coating applications. The role focuses on preparing surfaces, applying primers and topcoats with HVLP spray equipment, and ensuring finishes meet color and adhesion standards in coordination with the Lead Technician.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of painting experience, with 5+ years preferred in aviation, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, read and write English fluently, and work in a compliant environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years painting experience required; 5+ years preferred in aviation.
• English reading/writing fluency required.
• Able to lift 40–50 lbs, stand long periods, climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and apply coatings to aircraft skins and parts.
• Clean work areas, spray booths, racks, and change filters.
• Mix and apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, and topcoats.
• Follow paint schematics and layouts for branding and placards.
• Inspect finished surfaces for flaws, adhesion, and color.
• Follow xCelle Americas policies and procedures.
• Follow FAA, OSHA, and environmental protocols including waste disposal and respirator use.
• Coordinate with Lead Technician to support production.
• Complete maintenance records per Quality Management System.
• Notify supervisor of un-airworthy conditions.
• Train and mentor lower-grade painters.
• Other duties as needed.
