Job summary

HNTB Corporation in San Francisco is seeking an aviation planner focused on aviation noise analysis. You will conduct analyses of aircraft noise impacts for NEPA, Part 150 studies, and airport master plans, using AEDT, ArcGIS Pro, CAD, and data tools.

The role requires excellent written and oral communication to present methods and results to clients, regulatory agencies, and the public, and to prepare concise, defensible NEPA documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in urban planning, geography, engineering, or related field with several years of professional experience.
• Experience preparing concise, defensible NEPA documents and presenting analyses to clients and agencies.
• Proficiency with AEDT, GIS, and aviation data processing tools.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and prepare noise model input data from FAA data and airport monitoring systems.
• Analyze flight tracks and aircraft performance data for environmental studies.
• Develop noise exposure maps using AEDT and GIS tools.
• Evaluate noise impacts for NEPA, Part 150, and airport development projects.
• Lead production of maps, exhibits, and technical documents for transportation projects.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and facilitate public involvement activities.
