Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Network Installer to support FAA NAS infrastructure in the Seattle area. You will install and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems, ensuring uptime, performance, and security for critical air traffic operations.

You will work with cutting-edge BNATCS programs, perform fiber testing with OTDR, and maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Seattle residency and 100% local travel are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent).
• Experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.
• Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networking.
• Solid understanding of SD-WAN, fiber optics, and wireless LAN/WAN technologies.
• Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with fiber testing tools (OTDR).
• Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode)
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools
• Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents
• Troubleshoot network issues across fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalating as needed
• Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records
