Job summary

FedEx Logistics seeks an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform safe, efficient maintenance on turbine-powered aircraft at our Memphis, TN locations. You will execute planned and unplanned tasks, troubleshoot faults, and ensure timely write-ups while coordinating with team members.

Requirements include 36 months of related maintenance experience, an A&P license, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 36 months aircraft maintenance on turbine-powered aircraft >12,500 lbs MEW.
• A&P license required and current.
• Valid non-restricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance to minimize delays and OOS impacts.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems using test equipment.
• Prepare accurate write-ups and communicate exceptions promptly.
• Obtain engine run, taxi, and tow certifications as directed.
• Work in line and hangar environments and maintain safety standards.

Job description

Job Duties
Provide safe and efficient maintenance, including repair, engine run, taxi and troubleshooting aircraft at various MX locations as assigned to minimize delays, cancellations, and OOS impacts. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in accordance with the appropriate Manuals. Communicate exceptions as they occur and create accurate and complete write-ups with all inputs in a timely manner. Additionally, when there is no manager or lead onsite, to accept the daily work release plan. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma/GED Current A&P Licenses required. Valid non-restricted driver’s license from the state of residence

Minimum Experience

Thirty-six (36) months aircraft maintenance experience on turbine powered Aircraft that exceed 12500 lbs. MEW. Previous experience does not include A&P school and training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have ability to determine Aircraft System failures, troubleshoot and repair.
• Must be able to use test equipment.
• Must be able to interpret + Adhere to all A/C manuals.
• Must be able to attain engine run and taxi certifications as directed
• Must be able to attain aircraft tow operator certification as directed
• Must be able to complete all Aircraft parts replacements procedures.
• Must be able to maintain and service Aircraft systems in a Line and Hangar environment.
• Must have sufficient computer skills to access and complete electronic AML procedures and computer-based training modules
• Must be able to meet all training requirements in a timely manner
• Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies as needed
• Must be able to perform well in fast paced environment working under specific deadlines and time constraints to perform aircraft maintenance to meet the demands of the flight schedule
• Must work well with others as part of a team and work under stressful situations
• Must be able to remain alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment effectively
• Must be able to communicate information and instructions in writing, verbally or via radio equipment
• Provides friendly service and maintain positive relationship with Internal and External customers
• Works in cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company

• Must be able to perform all job functions within cramped and confined spaces, heights, hazardous areas, and various weather conditions.
• Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, stoop frequently and for extended periods of time
• Must support, adhere, and perform company and Regulatory security related directives
• Must be able to obtain required airport certifications and approval of airport access
• Must Be able to Lift up to 75 lbs. & maneuver heavy A/C related Components, parts & equipment regularly
• Must be willing and able to work with and mentor new and inexperienced team members.

Job Conditions

FAA covered safety sensitive position. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. A valid non-restricted driver license from the state of residence is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

The desired location for this position would be Memphis, TN. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week. Prefer knowledge and skills for structural repair and modification, troubleshooting & defect mitigation, and technical documentation. A thorough understanding of the SRM, Engineering Orders, and Engineering Authorization is preferred. Experience in an FAA-approved Aircraft Repair Station(Part 145)or equiv. facility working specifically as an aircraft structures mechanic.
