Job summary

Flexjet is seeking an Aviation Meteorologist to deliver precise weather forecasts and tailored traffic management information for flight operations. You will brief Owner Services, Operations, and Flight teams, supporting safe and efficient routing amid evolving weather and airspace conditions.

The role requires advanced aviation meteorology expertise, strong communication skills, and flexibility to work non-traditional hours. Collaboration with NBAA AT Services and external vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or related field.
• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License, FAA Commercial/Instrument/ATPL ratings.
• Demonstrated aviation meteorology expertise for flight operations.
• Proficient in meteorological software, radar, and satellite tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to varied audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures.
• Flexible to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Responsibilities

• Analyze meteorological data from satellites, radar, models and surface observations to produce aviation forecasts.
• Provide weather briefings and traffic management guidance to internal teams before/during flights.
• Monitor current weather and national airspace system status for updates to operations.
• Assess weather risks and provide flight planning recommendations to Operations.
• Collaborate with Flight Planning for real-time weather and ATC reroute information.
• Convey complex meteorology and traffic information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with NBAA AT Services and external vendors.
• Stay updated on advances in meteorology tech and industry practices.
