Job summary

Vista America in Teterboro, NJ seeks an Aviation Materials Buyer to procure aircraft components and manage inventory for multiple fleet types. You will ensure timely purchases, proper warranty handling, and compliant vendor selection while coordinating with mx control and site managers.

You will monitor parts usage, process purchases, and liaise with internal teams and external vendors to optimize inventory and delivery performance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Two years purchasing experience required.
  • Two years purchasing/procurement in FAR Part 135/91/121 preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Experience with aviation software including inventory management, maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping, including dangerous goods.

  • Manage inventory, issue/receive POs and interface with departments and vendors.
  • Review part consumption during maintenance to verify installations and returns.

Job description

Job Profile

The Aviation Materials Buyer in Teterboro, NJ reports to the VP of Procurement and Materials. The Materials Buyer is responsible for the accurate and time-sensitive function of procuring and managing aircraft components to support the various fleet types that Jet Select operates. This is done in accordance with established processes set by department.

The procurement department operates Monday - Sunday from 7AM - 12AM. The shifts in this department are 7:00AM - 4PM and 3:00PM - 12:00AM.

Your Responsibilities
  • Processes and actions requisition for parts purchase submitted by mx control, planning and site managers with appropriate warranty review, aircraft contract application and correct vendor selection. Situational awareness of aircraft maintenance event is imperative and critical. Responsible for identifying and properly processing cores and warranty transactions, as necessary.
  • Manages existing inventory by transferring and/or allocating correctly for maximum benefit for company, including issuing and receiving purchase orders, service orders and interfacing with multiple departments within company and external vendors.
  • Reviews part consumption during maintenance events to confirm installation and return of unused parts, cores and failures, as needed.

Required Experience, Qualifications, And Education
  • High School Diploma
  • Two years purchasing experience - required (ie: automotive, marine or similar)
  • Two years purchasing/procurement experience in FAR Part 135, 91 or 121 environments - preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experienced with utilizing aviation software that includes inventory management, maintenance and repair
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping, including dangerous goods
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task and work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
