Job summary

Air Methods in Mesa, AZ, is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, inspections, and alterations on company aircraft. The role requires adherence to FARs, SBs, and ADs, with strong documentation practices and hands-on problem solving.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in aircraft maintenance, an A&P license (IA/FAA preferred), and the ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5 to 7 years related aircraft maintenance experience required.
  • AS350 or EC130 experience preferred.
  • Factory airframe/power plant schooling preferred.
  • FAR 145 operations preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand 337s, SBs, ADs, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including overtime and on-call.
  • FAA A&P license in good standing preferred.
  • IA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, inspect, and alter Company operated aircraft and articles.
  • Perform inspections and repairs per procedures, ADs, SBs, and FARs.
  • Verify part numbers and serial numbers with documentation.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation complies with regulations and manuals.
  • Participate in Safety Management System improvements.
  • Keep work area clean and professional.
  • Identify parts, tools, and supplies for non-routine discrepancies.
  • Maintain shop equipment and support tooling.
  • Mentor and train less experienced mechanics.
  • Participate in Lean process improvements.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of Company operated aircraft and articles as assigned in accordance with Air Methods’ policies and procedures.
  • Perform inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Verify by physical inspection or markings on the part that the part number and serial number match the associated documentation.
  • Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement phase of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Maintain work area in a clean and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize Air Method’s EAP system to account for time on task accurately.
  • Identify all needed parts, tools and supplies for non-routine discrepancy findings.
  • Perform maintenance on 145 shop’s support equipment.
  • Mentor and train less experienced mechanics.
  • Actively participate in 145 shop LEAN process improvements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 5 to 7 years’ related aircraft maintenance experience required
  • AS350 or EC130 experience preferred
  • Factory airframe/power plant schools preferred
  • FAR 145 operations preferred
  • Electrical troubleshooting and refined vibration-balancing
  • Ability to read and understand various documents such as 337’s, Service Bulletins, AD’s, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Efficient in the use of electronic or paper based manuals and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Company’s ERP system (Ramco)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to apply creativity and problem solving skills in troubleshooting work
  • FAA A&P License in good standing preferred
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
