Job summary

Lansing Community College’s Aviation Maintenance / Avionics program is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach courses related to aircraft maintenance and systems. The incumbent must possess working knowledge across pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, structures and powerplants, with strong safety practices and good communication.

The role includes delivering a full teaching load, potential night/weekend/online instruction, and representing the program in public forums.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or higher.
Current, valid FAA Airframe Repairman and Powerplant Repairman (A&P) certifications.
Two (2) years’ relevant industry work experience, i.e., as a certificated (FAA) aircraft maintenance technician (military aviation maintenance experience is accepted).

Responsibilities

Teach a full teaching load of multiple courses each semester covering aircraft systems operation and repair.
Possibility of teaching nights, weekends, online courses or seminars.
Represent the Aviation Maintenance Program in public forums and interact with industry, vendors, and professional associations.
Assist in course development and improvement, advise students, and maintain regular office hours.
Collaborate within departmental, divisional, and college-wide committees; support diversity and student success initiatives.
