Job summary

Cape Fear Community College in North Carolina is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor to plan, develop, and teach classroom and hands-on training for the AMT program. This is a time-limited, temporary grant-funded position ending December 2026 with potential to be extended.

You will prepare lesson plans, use Canvas, develop tests, and supervise hands-on labs. The role requires maintaining records and ensuring safety, with duties at North Campus and a daytime/evening schedule.

Qualifications

• FAA mechanic certification with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Experience in aviation maintenance field or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret college policies and FAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students
• Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
• Utilize Canvas and other LMS
• Develop supplement materials and tests
• Demonstrate equipment and design hands-on labs
• Maintain attendance and performance records
• Ensure safety and proper inventory of equipment and supplies
• Oversee policy implementation and compliance
