Aviation Institute of Maintenance is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic) at our Norfolk campus to train the next generation of FAA-certified technicians. You will deliver hands-on instruction and FAA-aligned curriculum in classroom and hangar environments.

No teaching experience is required; we offer a 5-day paid instructor training program, competitive pay, generous benefits, and flexible schedule options to support day or evening shifts.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Associates degree in aviation or related field preferred; HS diploma required.
• Experience mentoring and training others is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum.
• Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom and hangar environments.
• Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Create a structured, engaging, safety-focused learning environment.
• Adapt to evening or weekend schedules as needed.
