Job summary

Aims Community College in Loveland, Colorado, seeks aviation faculty to teach at the FAA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Training School (AMTS). The role includes planning and delivering courses, developing curriculum, and supporting college aviation goals while following FAA guidance and college policies.

The incumbent will assist in evaluation of textbooks, maintain lab equipment, and advise students; FAA credentials and teaching readiness are preferred. Evening classes may be required.

Qualifications

  • Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) and 1+ year of experience.
  • One-year military maintenance experience acceptable; or 3+ years general aviation experience.
  • Ability to teach with a student-centered approach and use appropriate lab/sim devices.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct assignments across aviation courses and maintain relevant records.
  • Assist in program and curriculum evaluation, articulation, revision, and development.
  • Participate in professional development and professional aviation activities.
  • Assist with selection of textbooks and instructional materials meeting FAA guidance.
  • Teach in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 141 and college policies.
  • Mentor and advise students on academics and career paths.
