Job summary

Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics is hiring an Aviation Maintenance Instructor for the Hagerstown campus. This salary-exempt role offers daytime hours with no weekend commitments and training provided if teaching experience is not yet present.

The instructor will lead classroom and lab sessions, mentor students, and manage lab equipment while evaluating progress. FAA A&P certification and aviation experience are required or verifiable.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification required.
• 3+ years of verifiable aviation industry or military aviation experience.
• Teaching experience is ideal, but not required; training provided.
• Familiarity with teaching software and email using computers.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods during class and labs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom presentations and guide students in laboratories for hands-on instruction.
• Manage laboratory equipment and inventory and evaluate student performance.

PIA’s Hagerstown campus is hiring for a fulfilling Aviation Maintenance Instructor position that allows you to give back while enjoying great daytime hours and no weekend commitments! Teaching experience is a plus, but not required, as we will provide instructional training. The Aviation Maintenance Instructor is a Salary Exempt position.

Schedule: Regular hours

• Monday-Thursday 7:00 am to 3:50 pm
• Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am

Aviation Maintenance Instructor Qualifications And Skills

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
• 3+ years of verifiable aviation industry or military aviation experience
• We provide training for new faculty members, so teaching experience is ideal, but not required.
• Familiarity with computers for using teaching software and email.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.

Aviation Maintenance Instructor Responsibilities and Duties
