Maintenance Inspector

Location: Sun Valley, CA

Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Salary Range: $21.25 - $25.24

Seeking a Maintenance Inspector to support its Quality Control – Final Inspection department. The selected applicant will perform detailed and complex inspections of piece parts and complete assemblies, and perform Return To Service functions. Applies Lean Process principles in continuous improvement, maintains surveillance over receiving, assembly, and test functions to ensure product conformance to specifications. Performs receiving and final inspection of components, secures documentation for traceability, and issues non-conformity reports and corrective actions. Interfaces with source inspectors and customers during audits and visits.

Essential Duties:
  • Perform inspection of components and assemblies; verify documentation accompanies work packages and is properly filed.
  • Confirm adherence to assembly and test procedures, applying established standards and practices.
  • Provide technical assistance to all departments.
  • Contribute to cost reduction efforts and participate in quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in training and developing personnel.
  • Inspect planning per customer OEM and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain inspection records and traceability documentation.
  • Initiate rework orders and corrective action requests.
  • Recommend process improvements and cost-saving methods.
  • Support warranty and field return analysis.
  • Provide technical assistance to inspection and manufacturing personnel.
  • Interface with source inspectors and auditors.
  • Assist in source evaluation and product acceptance.
  • Occasionally perform audits and surveys for conformance.
  • Coordinate tasks for building, track parts, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure high availability of parts at build date.
  • Coordinate between Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving.
  • Improve the marshalling area continuously.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for defects and corrective actions.
  • Understand customer specifications, drawings, and inspection instructions.
  • Identify structural flaws and internal defects.
  • Use various measurement devices and understand blueprints.
  • Perform visual inspections and verify quality using control procedures.
  • Work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A & P License required.
  • 2–4 years of Landing Gear and MRO experience.
