Quality Inspector II, Production Floor (2nd Shift)

About the Team:

The Quality team supports all areas of production of Relativity’s hardware and defines the processes to do so. We work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, test and launch counterparts to ensure the quality of our products.

About the Role: This role is for 2nd shift from 2pm-10:30pm.

  • Conduct thorough inspections (in-process and final) on propulsion components, large structures and mechanical assemblies.
  • Use precision hand tools to perform dimensional inspections on flight hardware.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of quality initiatives within the organization.
  • Diligently review all hardware requirements and determine pass/fail status, documenting outcomes and any non-conformances or deviations found.
  • Take closeout photos of large integrated assemblies upon completion of final walkdowns.
  • Use borescopes to perform FOD inspections on machined parts or other assembly cavities.

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of working as a quality inspector in aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel.
  • Good communication skills are essential for interacting with team members, engineers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • A high level of attention to detail is crucial for conducting thorough inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Experience in Material Review Board (MRB) processes, including identifying, documenting, and transporting non-conforming hardware in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational procedures.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in tight spaces.
  • Willing to work overtime to meet critical deadlines as needed.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Well-versed in process development and first-time quality efforts.
  • Highly organized and able to provide structure and direction to the previously undefined.

Hiring Range: $27 - $35 USD
