Job summary

GA Telesis LLC in Medley, Florida, invites a Landing Gear Technician to join our award-winning team. This 2nd shift role focuses on building and tearing down landing gears and components, reporting to the Landing Gear Manager, and performing high-quality alterations.

Responsibilities include: complex production assembly on aircraft systems, troubleshooting, installing and modifying components, reading engineering drawings and OEM data, and maintaining required certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of related experience
• 1+ years of experience removing and restoring aircraft assemblies
• Experience assembling aircraft/aerospace parts, components, and/or assemblies using applicable drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing plans
• Possess the ability to construct, install, dismantle, relocate, modify, and/or repair OEM equipment of all types
• Knowledge of wiring schematics on understanding and reading a manual to install components

Responsibilities

• Complex production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
• Utilization of comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft structural modification and repair and the ability to determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
• Operation of unique aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, sheers, etc.
• Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to execute complex structures work, including but not limited to pull holes, match & back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and system, wire, and tube installations.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair
• Maintains necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
