Job summary

Johnson Service Group, Inc. seeks an experienced JIG Builder for an aviation assignment in Wichita. The role involves planning and laying out tools, assembling dies, and ensuring producibility per engineering documents using precision measurement equipment.

Candidates should have 7+ years in machining with 5+ years in tool and die construction, plus the ability to read engineering docs and set up various shop machines while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years conventional machining, sheet metal, fabrication, or related experience including 5 years in tool and die construction.
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering, Methods and Tool Design documents.
• Ability to set-up and operate shop machines and use precision measurement instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with multiple departments.
• Basic knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, and algebra.

Responsibilities

• Plan and construct layout of tools and dies from Engineering, Tool Design, and/or Methods documents.
• Review Methods documents to ensure producibility and estimate labor hours as needed.
• Determine and order raw materials for tool or die construction.
• Assemble tools and dies using precision measurement equipment to meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot with Engineering, Tool Design, Production, and Methods to resolve issues.
