Job summary

Textron Aviation in Wichita, KS is seeking an Upholsterer to assemble precision aircraft seats, upholster components, and apply markings for production aircraft parts.

You will work on bench upholstery, use power tools, read basic drawings, and ensure quality and proper certification for sealants and adhesives. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for growth within a global aviation leader.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification to interpret blueprints, apply shop math, and use some measuring devices.
• Requires a combination of three (3) years’ experience in upholstery, bench upholstery, and/or mechanical experience or must hold the Upholsterer C classification a minimum of three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and upholster aircraft seats and related soft goods with precision.
• Install control mechanisms, arm rests, seat belts, life vests, and related assemblies.
• Operate power tools and cutters, trim materials, and apply adhesives following certifications.
• Read basic drawings and follow detailed instructions to maintain quality.
• Maintain tools and stock, ensure paint consistency for decals and marks.
• Coordinate with departments to complete interior components.
