Job summary
West Star Aviation is seeking an Interior Upholstery Technician for the 2nd shift in East Alton, IL. The role involves repairing, refurbishing and reinstalling aircraft interior upholstery, including seats and panels, with varied daily tasks under a Team Leader.
Responsibilities include removal/installation, cleaning, and possible modifications, plus following FAA guidelines. Candidate should be ready for a high-mobility, hands-on environment with a focus on safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Experience levels from Tech I to Master Tech with increasing responsibilities.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and schematics.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of FAA guidelines and safety/compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform foam build ups, patterning and sewing of seat parts and upholstery items.
- Possess ability to perform minor modifications.
- Complete daily turnover sheets.
- Maintain and repair shop facilities and tooling.
- Basic computer skills to navigate training, manuals and maintenance databases.
- Keep shop and surroundings clean and safe.
- Work independently when required.
- Communicate clearly in English.
- Assist in major modification work as needed.
