Job summary

Advanced Air, LLC in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a hands-on GSE Maintenance Technician. The role focuses on inspection, maintenance, and repair of ground support equipment and company vehicles, coordinating preventive maintenance and vendor relationships to ensure fleet availability and regulatory compliance.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, manage maintenance records, and support safe operations in a fast-paced airport setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing fleet, GSE, or vehicle/heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel, gasoline, electric, and hydraulic systems in ground support equipment.
• Excellent organizational skills to track costs, coordinate vendors, and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Able to obtain airport SIDA badge and driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE and vehicles (tugs, loaders, GPUs, de-icers, fuel trucks, forklifts, air start units).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules per manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Coordinate repairs with in-house teams or external vendors to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance history and inventory using a CMMS system.
• Ensure training programs and guides exist for equipment safety and basic maintenance checks.
• Ensure FAA/OSHA compliance and proper documentation for audits.
• Act as primary liaison with vendors and track repair status and costs.
• Provide fleet status and maintenance cost reports to leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
