Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, located at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, seeks a Welder/Maintenance Repair Technician to perform welding, fabrication and PLC‑based maintenance on baggage handling and conveyor systems. The role requires a 3G welding certificate, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain airport security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a 3G Welding Certificate or higher.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Availability to work day or nightshift including weekends and holidays.
• Preferred: High School Diploma/GED.
• 1+ years in maintenance operations (preferred).
• Industrial electrical experience with 3 phase motors and 480v (preferred).
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, and/or stick processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding symbols, and related documentation.
• Fabricate, modify, repair, and install metal components and structures.
• Perform cutting, grinding, fitting and other fabrication activities.
• Inspect welds and fabricated components for quality and functionality.
• Provide troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for PLC‑controlled baggage handling and conveyor systems.
• Drive and operate equipment (golf cart, forklift, etc.).
• Assist with input of maintenance data into CMMS and respond to maintenance calls.
• Adhere to safety program and training requirements.
