Job summary

Skyryse in El Segundo, CA seeks a Validation & Verification Engineer for aviation software. You will test and QA Fly-By-Wire and Display software, review high/low level requirements, designs and code, and support FAA/DER reviews to ensure safety-critical certification.

The role focuses on embedded software verification, test automation, and certification artifacts, with collaboration across DER, systems, and flight teams. Strong DO-178C knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience in certification of software and systems.
• Experience in developing software test and verification documents.
• Experience with tools similar to dSPACE.
• Proficient in Python, C, C++, MATLAB.
• Working knowledge of CAN, RTD, Serial communications and ARINC 429/UART.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct software flight critical tests and reviews of the Flight Control System and Display per DO-178C/DO-331/DO-254.
• Create embedded test benches and perform processor-in-the-loop testing for multiple components.
• Develop verification tools and automation; qualify test stands and procedures.
• Maintain software certification plans and artifacts.
• Code and test vector generation and testing per DO-331.
• Lead multi-disciplinary design reviews through PDR/CDR to production readiness and certification.
• Collaborate with DER and systems group for SOI audits.
• Train Skyryse teams to follow processes.
