Job summary

State of Colorado, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, is seeking an Aviation Program Supervisor to lead the Helicopter Module within the DFPC. The role focuses on directing aviation programs, coordinating with district staff, and ensuring safe operations in wildland fire management across Colorado.

Responsibilities include supervision of pilots and crew, program implementation, training, and interagency collaboration, with a starting salary reflecting NWCG qualifications and state

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of documented professional fire aviation management or related experience.
• Minimum NWCG qualifications required (HMGB or higher; ICT3/DIVS etc.).
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct DFPC fire aviation programs within the district.
• Coordinate aviation plans with district staff and external partners.
• Ensure safety, training, and compliance across helicopter modules.
• Represent DFPC in interagency aviation discussions and policy updates.
