Port of Seattle is seeking an Aviation Facilities & Infrastructure Senior Engineer to coordinate and direct multiple capital and expense projects, acting as the project sponsor for renewal, replacement and expansion to meet operational needs.

You will lead energy management programs, oversee related software applications, and shape asset management and maintenance plans to ensure regulatory compliance, life‑cycle optimization, and alignment with growth goals.

Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience with infrastructure planning, design, integration, modeling, maintenance, construction and project management for facilities.
  • Professional Engineering license is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee energy management software applications (Energy Star Portfolio Manager, Clean Building Portal, MDM/EMS).
  • Develop asset management program for energy policy and act as owner of asset condition and capacity.
  • Conduct annual inventory and compliance activities for regulatory requirements.
  • Implement aviation infrastructure plans to meet growth and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs for energy management of infrastructure.
  • Develop and govern aviation design guidelines and coordinate with departments.
  • Ensure program schedule aligns with lifecycle expectancy and sustainability goals.
  • Evaluate design drawings for conformance and coordinate with other projects.
  • Provide construction administration for large capital projects (submittals, RFIs, site visits).

Job description

As an Aviation Facilities & Infrastructure Senior Engineer, you will coordinate and provide direction to multiple capital and expense projects. You will act as a project sponsor for infrastructure renewal and replacement and/or expansion projects to support operational needs.

  • You will coordinate, plan, and implement facility-wide energy management programs and policies as the subject matter expert for energy management infrastructure and systems, and develop compliance programs for airport facilities.
  • You will support the manager by preparing information for executive leadership related to regulatory initiatives and energy management policy.
  • You will oversee energy management software applications (Energy Star Portfolio Manager, the Clean Building Portal, Meter Data Management Systems, and/or Energy Management Systems).
  • You will lead the developing and defining of the asset management program for energy management policy, functioning as "owner" and subject matter expert of asset condition and capacity.
  • You will conduct annual inventory and verification for financial regulatory requirements, such as benchmarking and energy assessments, and develop renewal and replacement programs for energy management policies.
  • You will implement the aviation infrastructure/facility system plan and long-term vision at large project level to meet aviation growth, institutional initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
  • You will lead the development of preventative maintenance programs for operations and maintenance for the energy management of infrastructure and systems to maintain aviation operations and maximize life cycle of systems.
  • You will develop, maintain, and govern aviation design guidelines and standards for facility and infrastructure, and coordinate with and provide direction to relevant departments.
  • You will coordinate with planning and capital development departments to ensure the program schedule aligns with available life cycle expectancy of systems, century agenda and sustainability goals, regulatory and aviation growth requirements.
  • You will evaluate project design drawings for large capital and expense projects for conformance to standards and specifications and coordination with other capital projects and expansion of existing infrastructure.
  • You will provide construction administration for large capital projects, including submittals, Request for Information (RFI), site observations, construction meetings, and punch walks.
  • Experienced – You have ten (10) years of experience with infrastructure planning, design, integration, modeling, maintenance, construction, and project management related to facilities. A bachelor’s degree in engineering may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications – You possess a Professional Engineering license.
  • Desired – We hope you have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering.
