Job summary

Garver's Birmingham, AL office is seeking a motivated civil engineering student to join our Aviation Electrical Engineering Intern program to train and mentor with experienced aviation design professionals.

You will learn about airport lighting, photometric design, power distribution, and construction administration for commercial service and general aviation airports, while gaining hands-on experience with plan and specification preparation and site visits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing electrical engineering bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong interest in pursuing electrical engineering in aviation industry.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals.
• Work in an office environment with weekly team and design meetings.
• Receive training on airport lighting, photometric design, and power distribution.
• Gain experience in plan and specification preparation for aviation projects.
• Conduct site visits to Garver's aviation projects such as airports.
