Garver’s Birmingham team invites a motivated civil engineering student to join as an Aviation Civil Engineering Intern. You will work with seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience in airfield pavement design, maintenance, and airport lighting, while visiting project sites such as hangars, taxiways, and runways in the Birmingham area.

The internship emphasizes training with senior engineers, exposure to proposal development, and grant applications, plus involvement in Garver Launch

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
• Interest in pursuing civil engineering in the aviation industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced aviation design professionals.
• Receive training from senior engineers in airfield pavement design, maintenance, airport lighting, and construction oversight.
• Visit Garver’s Aviation project sites (hangars, taxiways, runways).
• Assist with project administration, proposals, and grant applications.
