Job summary

TKDA in Bloomington, MN is seeking an electrical engineer to design airfield electrical infrastructure, lighting, NAVAIDs, and power systems for airports and related facilities. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and advance FAA‑related aviation infrastructure knowledge.

You’ll participate in field investigations, design calculations, and client engagements, growing expertise in airport electrical design and project leadership within a growing aviation practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in power, lighting, control, or signal system design.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical distribution equipment.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for airfield facilities and infrastructure.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, control, and communications systems for airports.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, specs, and construction cost estimates.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit and other design tools to deliver project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.
