Sierra Pacific Industries, a fourth-generation family-owned company in Northern California, seeks a Director of Aviation to lead a team of eight pilots and four maintenance personnel. The role demands strategic oversight of flight operations, strict adherence to FAA guidelines, and cost-conscious management.

The position is based in the Redding, CA area with no remote option. The Flight Department operates a modern fleet and emphasizes safety, compliance, and exceptional service to passengers

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in the aviation industry.
• Experienced jet pilot with certifications or ability to attain such for the company aircraft.
• Broad aviation background including knowledge of FAA regulations, weather, and air traffic control.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication skills and ability to inspire a team of aviation professionals.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including multi-day trips away from home.

Responsabilités

• Ensure flight operation success, security, development and strategic alignment.
• Manage, schedule and prioritize all flights per FAA and company guidelines.
• Lead and supervise eight pilots and four maintenance personnel.
• Develop, implement and administer operating policies for flight operations.
• Coordinate aircraft certification and training programs for pilots.
• Monitor and report operating costs and budgets for flight operations.
