Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for JFK Airport, based out of Queens, NY. This direct-hire role requires 4+ years of diesel experience and offers multiple shifts with competitive pay and strong benefits in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Candidates should have diesel/truck/GSE experience, a valid CDL, and be able to obtain an airport ID badge. On-site work with a modern shop and documented work orders is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with diesel engines, trucks, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, or ground support equipment (GSE).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain airport ID badge.
• CDL license preferred and beneficial.
• Experience on ground support equipment, heavy equipment, or commercial fleets.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper repairs on diesel trucks, commercial vehicles, and ground support equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and cooling system issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance and inspections to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Use diagnostic tools, tablets, and mobile devices to manage work orders and document repairs.
• Repair and maintain engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, and other major vehicle components.
• Read and interpret OEM manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support equipment refurbishment projects, including welding and fabrication when needed.
