Job summary

Talisman in San Francisco is seeking an Aviation Design Engineer/Manager to lead airfield and landside projects at the San Francisco International Airport. You will guide teams, own client relationships, and drive projects from concept to construction in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires a PE license (CA preferred), 10–15 years of airfield experience, and strong communication skills. You will collaborate across disciplines and coordinate with regulators to deliver high-impact

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and CA PE license preferred.
10–15 years of airfield design, project production, and technical engineering experience.
Proven ability to manage teams, client relationships, and project finances.
Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with production support systems and standard engineering software.

Responsibilities

Oversee airfield and landside design projects, reviewing sketches and specifications.
Mentor junior professionals through all design phases.
Coordinate across runways, taxiways, drainage, geotechnical, and electrical disciplines.
Represent the firm to airport clients and regulators from concept through construction.
Ensure QA standards, communication protocols, and progress reporting.
Monitor schedules, budgets, and billing, escalating issues when needed.
Forecast weekly workload and plan manpower for the team.
