Job summary

HDR is seeking an Aviation Design EIT/Coordinator to collaborate on airfield design projects, supporting FAA/AC compliance and local requirements. You’ll contribute to technical development, maintain records, and participate in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

This role emphasizes teamwork, software proficiency (AutoCAD Civil 3D, AVI-Plan), and ongoing development toward an EIT credential, with opportunities to advance within HDR’s Transportation group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT certificate preferred; candidates without EIT may be placed into a Design Coordinator role and progress toward EIT.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of FAA Orders and Advisory Circulars, UFC requirements, local agency requirements, and client manuals.
• Be informed of at least one specialty element (e.g., pavement, drainage, lighting, signage).
• Participate in HDR Airfield Design Community of Practice (CoP).
• Process & Tool Application & Development: Basic use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and introduction to AVI-Plan packages.
• Prepare aviation design elements, studies and/or reports with direction.
• Maintain project records / SharePoint sites.
