Job summary

Geisinger Life Flight is seeking a qualified Flight Nurse to provide high-level nursing care from initial contact through handoff to the accepting medical facility. This role requires at least three years of critical care experience and active specialty certifications, with opportunities to mentor staff and participate in safety initiatives.

The position involves working in a life flight setting, including ECMO/NICU transports, and requires travel, shift work, and ongoing education to maintain

Qualifications

• Three years of critical care nursing experience required.
• CCRN, RNCEN, CFRN or CTRN certifications preferred.
• Must maintain ongoing education and competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care from initial contact to handoff to receiving facility.
• Document patient care thoroughly in EMR.
• Maintain life flight aircraft and base readiness.
• Operate within scope of practice per state and program standards.
• Serve as a preceptor and training resource for staff and students.
• Participate in safety and quality initiatives and incident reporting.
