Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Construction to provide technical guidance on multi-disciplined construction projects and contract issues. The role supports the Engineering Department at Ronald Reagan National or Washington Dulles International Airport.

You will manage small to medium CCP projects and work with FAA, VDOT, WMATA and other agencies; ensure safety, compliance, and timely project closeout while maintaining airport operations.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible experience in construction management.
• Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of commercial-industrial construction management.
• Knowledge of related engineering fields and ability to ensure proper sequencing of work.
• Knowledge of construction safety principles and regulations.
• Ability to speak and write effectively.
• Skill in managing multiple small to medium scale projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and monitors all construction phases and activities of small to medium size construction projects.
• Inspects and monitors new construction and evaluates work against contract specs and design intent.
• Reviews progress reports and change orders, and processes documentation.
• Assists in reviewing shop drawings and material lists with designers to ensure design intent.
• Collaborates with project teams to improve constructability and economy of construction.
• Ensures airports remain operational during construction and coordinates with stakeholders.
