Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in St. Louis seeks an Aircraft Component Repair Technician to repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies and subassemblies under Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read blueprints and use precision tools; 2 years in related fields such as sheetmetal or electrical systems is preferred. Travel up to 25% and full-time shift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Able to interpret blueprints, engrg docs and use precision measuring tools.
  • Proficient operation of tools in the dept incl glass bead & carboblast machines.
  • 2 years experience in sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, and servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Apply basic and some advanced skills to repair mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies per manuals and data.
  • Perform removals, repairs or replacement of defective parts and fabrication of replacement parts.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate test equipment for functional tests and return to service.
  • Inspect detail parts using blueprints and manuals to ensure conformance.
  • Remove skins and related components on flight controls and install parts.
  • Demonstrate repair techniques including soldering and protective coatings.
  • Maintain FAA RS paperwork and a clean work area.
  • Comply with environmental health and safety regulations.
