Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level Airport Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Florida Team in Orlando. You will assist in planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for runways, taxiways, ramps, and related infrastructure.

The role emphasizes data analysis, site investigations, report preparation, and coordination with senior staff. You will gain mentorship, work with CAD tools, and contribute to compliant, safe aviation projects.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in civil engineering or aviation projects.
• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT preferred.
• CAD software proficiency required.

Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Airport Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Florida Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Orlando, FL .

Your role

Assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadway, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure.

Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.

Research project site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.

Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations under the close review of a more experienced professional.

Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.

Contributes to design assignments by knowing how to clearly convey the design intent to engineering drawings and specifications.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

About you

• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of experience
• EDUCATION: BS in Civil Engineering
• SPECIAL SKILLS: EIT preferred
• Familiarity with airside and landside aviation projects desired
• Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills. PC and CAD skills required.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is desired.
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: EIT Preferred

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $80,000 - $85,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
