Job summary

GAT Airline Ground Support in Birmingham, AL, is seeking dynamic individuals to join its aviation team. The role focuses on organizing warehouse storage, loading/unloading air cargo, and maintaining safety and SOP compliance. Responsible for operating handling equipment, preparing cargo, and documenting airline requirements.

This is a variable-hours, non-exempt position with potential for growth and training opportunities within a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock.
• Ramp or airline operational experience is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficient.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload air cargo on and off aircraft, carts, containers and trucks.
• Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft and perform ramp transfers.
• Prepare and palletize cargo as needed.
• Read and complete cargo documents for airline requirements.
• Ensure proper handling and operation of related equipment.
• Follow Dangerous Goods rules and company SOPs.
• Handle pickup and delivery of cargo to designated areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
