Job summary

Atlanta Technical College seeks a knowledgeable Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) to teach on its main campus in Atlanta, GA. The instructor will deliver course content, prepare syllabi, and ensure FAA compliance for Part 147 programs.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree, A&P certification, and 1+ year of related experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The role may require travel to alternate locations and several responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university AND one (1) or more years of related work experience in an educational setting or a business setting.
  • Must also be A & P certified and with three (3) years of experience as an A & P mechanic.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher and three (3)+ years related work experience; teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional instruction aligned with an approved course syllabus.
  • Ensure course outcomes align with stated objectives.
  • Prepare curriculum materials and syllabi for assigned coursework.
  • Adhere to FAA regulations governing Part 147 schools.
  • Use appropriate teaching techniques to engage groups of students.
  • Apply testing and grading procedures and maintain grade books.
