Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Academic Instructor to support the Academics Division at Fort Rucker, AL. You will instruct and plan course content for rotary-wing theory and related subjects, update materials, and deliver engaging lessons using various media.

The role requires FAA AGI and IGI ratings, three years of general aviation experience, and CFD-IC training within the last five years. Expect work in a formal military training environment with safety and reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate ability to teach Initial Entry Rotary Wing subjects: Theory of Rotary Wing Flight, Flight Support, Navigation, Aviation Weather, and Instruments.
• Proficiency demonstration will be conducted for evaluation by Academics Division Director.
• Presentation will be scored according to Army academic evaluation standards.
• FAA AGI and IGI ratings required prior to hire.
• Minimum of three years of general aviation experience.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with electronic forms, grade sheets, and computer-based presentations.
• CFD-IC completion within the last five years.
• Academic classroom facilitation skills are normally taught during CFD-IC.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and plans instructional efforts for flight-related subjects per POI and Syllabus of Instruction.
• Keeps lesson plans and training materials current.
• Prepares, administers, grades, and records examinations.
• Develops and presents lesson materials and computer-based presentations.
• Provides extra instruction for deficient students upon request.
• Attends safety and academic instructor meetings.
• Maintains training materials, aids, and equipment; ensures sufficiency and current content.
• Advises supervisor on needed supplies and training aids.
• Provides data for reports as requested by supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the director.
