Job description

We are seeking a Senior Aveva OSI PI Engineer to join a PI/OT data systems team supporting a large-scale industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OSIsoft/AVEVA PI System, data historian platforms, control systems, and process analytics.

The role requires strong software engineering experience, systems analysis capabilities, and exposure to regulated industry environments such as pharmaceuticals. The candidate should be highly motivated, innovative, self-driven, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead PI System upgrade initiatives and support team delivery
• Review and analyze User Requirements Specification (URS) documents
• Support development of detailed design specifications and system architecture
• Develop PI Tags, Asset Framework (AF) templates, AF Analyses, and Event Frames
• Design and maintain PI graphical interfaces and visualizations
• Support software development, testing, commissioning, and validation activities
• Provide first-line support for PI system operations and maintenance
• Execute PI and SQL data migrations (tags, AF data, and databases)
• Support system changes and optimization under change control processes
• Participate in PI system qualification and validation execution

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of AVEVA PI System architecture and components
• Experience leading PI System upgrades and implementation projects
• Experience installing, configuring, validating, and tuning PI Server and interfaces
• Experience with PI client tools such as PI Vision, DataLink, and PI RtReports
• Strong experience with PI Asset Framework (AF), AF Analytics, and performance equations
• Experience in PI and SQL Server data migrations
• Solid understanding of Windows OS, networking, and system security fundamentals
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured problem-solving approach
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in client-facing environments
• Ability to work both independently and within a team

Preferred Experience:

• .NET development experience with disciplined coding and testing practices
• Experience with PI-SDK and AF-SDK development for applications and web services
• Experience installing and configuring web-based applications
